Advantage: Efficient removal of erroneous velocity vectors.
Instantaneous velocity fields almost always contain some erroneous velocity vectors, due to various imperfections in
the measurements. FtrPTV-3D identifies such erroneous vectors by comparing each computed vector with the mean or
median of the neighboring vectors, where the neighborhood extends both in space and time. A vector differing much
from the mean or median, respectively, is identified as erroneous and subsequently replaced.
